Daniel Benson (born May 19, 1997) is a rising Afrobeats musician. He is better known professionally as BNXN (formerly Buju).
The singer, songwriter, and rapper who has become a favorite of many music-loving Africans is appreciated for his sonorous voice, clever lyrics, and musical prowess.
He rose to prominence in 2019 after releasing Spiritual Remix, a collaboration with rapper Zlatan Ibile. He was formerly signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Collective.

Early Life
Buju (BNXN) was born on May 19, 1997, to Mr. and Mrs. Benson’s mixed family. He is of Akwa Ibom and Yoruba descent. His father is from the South-South, while his mother is from the South West. His parents named him Daniel Benson.
He was born in Lagos State and spent part of his childhood there before relocating to adjacent Ogun State. He lived in the town of Mowe while in Ogun.

He was listening to a song by Jamaican dance hall star Buju Banton when he got his termination notice. Furthermore, the name Buju means “chubby youngster” in Jamaican, which corresponds to his physical look.
Catch A Vibe, his official debut track, was released in February 2018. The song went well in the market, gaining him new followers outside of his close pals. Later that year, he launched a second track named, A Day In Lagos. This song performed better than his first due to his growing fame on Twitter and Soundcloud. That same year, he released two additional songs, Aje and Balance It, to keep the focus on his rising star.

Buju (BNXN) struck gold again in 2020 when he teamed up with Burna Boy. The Grammy Award Winner heard Buju (BNXNhit )’s Lenu at a club and got interested in collaborating with the young artist. Buju (BNXNstanding )’s as one of the industry’s promising performers was cemented by their collaboration on Lenu (Remix).
Following that, he secured a record contract with Burna Boy’s Spaceship Collective. After his contract expired in April 2021, he left the company and formed his own music label, To Your Ears Entertainment.
Shortly after, he released the tune Outside, which became a national smash. Within months after its release, the song garnered huge radio playing and millions of streaming.
He was a featured musician on Ladipoe’s Feeling in 2021. Feeling was a top-charting single in 2021, peaking at number one on the TurnTable Top 50 Chart.
Under Too Your Ears Entertainment, Buju (BNXN) released his first EP, Sorry I Came Late. Daniel Benson, Never Stopped, Kilometer, Something Sweet, Ogechukwu (with The Cavemen), I Do, and For Here are among the top-charting singles on the Extended Play.
He performed as a guest artist on Wizkid’s Made In Lagos Deluxe Edition. He provided vocals for the track Mood.
Buju (BNXN) was featured on the remix of Dai Verse’s smash track, Sweet Daddy, in 2022. In February 2022, the song was released.
Buju (BNXN), an Akwa Ibom State native, rose to prominence on social media after asking that the audience assist him in tagging Zlatan Ibile to a viral recording session video he shared so that he could grant him a free verse, which he did.
Buju (BNXN) was signed to Spaceship Records by Burna Boy after the viral video and a blessed verse from Zlatan, with a remix to his tune L’enu featuring Burna Boy being utilized as an introduction hymn for him. He was also featured on Ladipoe’s Feeling.
